The Qazvin is the city of firsts, such that it hosts the first street and the first university of Iran. Although Qazvin boasts of a magnificent history, it is one of the richest cultural and historical cities of the country. Safavid king Shah Tahmasb hundreds of years ago selected it as his capital. It was so magnificent that Shah Abbas held his coronation ceremony there. Qazvin became a capital city in 1544 and remained so during the rule of four Safavid kings, which lasted for 54 years.
